With just a few weeks to go before the competition returns to Cockatoo island for this years season finale.
We caught up with Josh for a chat, about last years win,Nitro Circus live and much more.
You blew everyone away with your awesome win at X-Fighters last year !
How did it feel to win in Sydney, and are you looking forward to this years final ?
That was huge for me and such an awesome feeling, taking my first win on home ground.
Ive had a rough year this year, only making it to the Dubai round,so I'm definitely looking forward to Sydney's final.
Would you say that was the highlight of your career so far ?
Winning the X-fighters round in Sydney last year, for sure.
I rode in front of family and friends, took my first win and did 2 double flips in my runs.
We saw the introduction of the no flip round at X-Fighters this year,do you welcome the change now everyone has had chance to get used to it ?
Yeah its pretty cool. It really brings out the style and creativity without doing the massive flip tricks.
Your one of the only riders in the world that can perform the double backflip, what do you think would top that in your ultimate future trick list ?
That's a tough one not knowing what is possible, but a bike flip or a front flip would have to beat it i think.
Or even the T.P. roll !
You were the first ever rider to ruler flip a 450,where do you start to learn a trick like that ?
All the hard tricks like that are learnt into a foam pit. I was lucky enough to meet someone at the time who had one.
What for you are the advantages of a 450 over a 250 ?
I like the extra power. It comes in handy when you have a short run up and gets you out of trouble sometimes.
What made you start riding freestyle and who have been your biggest influences ?
I have just always loved bikes, going fast/high.
I watched the FMX movies when i was younger, but Travis Pastrana was definitely the most influential.
Travis and yourself will be performing together on the upcoming Nitro Circus Live European Tour.
What can we expect to see from you at the shows ?
Well a whole lot backflip tricks, some 360's and possibly some double backflips! Some of the tricks are done next to other riders as well, its a great show.
What is the best thing about being on the Nitro tour and whats the worst ?
It is such a great bunch of people to hang out with, so it really makes it a fun time.
The worst thing is just being on the road all the time, missing those few things you only get at home.
Whats is the craziest thing you have seen since joining the Nitro crew ?
Some of the contraptions they make up are just crazy !
Contraption's aplenty, highlights from this years tour of Australia
Have you seen the Nitro 3D movie,if so what is your favourite scene ?
No unfortunately i haven't seen it yet. Really want to though !
There is talk of a three way double flip as part of the Challenge Travis competition Red Bull are running at the London O2 stop.
How do you feel about that and how would you deal with the pressure if you are called upon to do it ?
Wow that sounds insane. Well 3 wide would need a pretty wide landing for a starters.
But if i was asked, i think i would just focus on my own jump and pretty much block out the other 2 riders next to me.

I love cars, so it would be awesome to race rally cars or road racing.
There are more and more young riders like yourself, trying to break into the scene, what advice do you have for anyone starting out in the sport ?
Anything is possible so just keep at it. It can take a lot of hard work.
Do you have a message for the fans and members of FMXWorld ?
Live life to the fullest! Make the most of every opportunity.
