Sorry I haven't messaged you for ages. How are you?
It's miserable here in Hastings today but I'm off to Marrakech on Tuesday and then doing my off roading on the 12th and 13th October. Cant wait!
My bike has also F**ked up so I will need to pay for repairs when I get back.... the joy of motorbikes! I had a go on a BMW GS 1200cc like the ones they use in the Long Way round. It was so much fun but a bit scary as it is so heavy!
The harley's are classic bikes and they must be so comfy to ride! I have never been on one but would love to have a go one day. I have a Suzuki DRZ 400 SM, it's a Supamoto so it is off road style but with road tyres. I love it!
I used to have a Husqvarna SM610S but I have never had so much grief from a bike. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong and I spent about £700 on repairing it and then it got stolen! I was gutted! Although I got insurance money back it wasn't enough for a new bike so I had to save for 6 months to afford a new bike. NEVER buy a bike privately, always go to a dealer at least you get Warranty that way, I learnt the hard way!
I want a KTM EXC 250, kinda similar to the bike that Levi Sherwood rides for off roading. I also want a big comfy tourer or trail bike for long journeys. When I'm 50 I will have a garage full of lovely bikes and one really shit car! I don't care about cars at all but they are handy when it's raining.
The Kawasaki's are pretty cool too.
The harley thing in Wales sounds cool, year you probably will have a bike but it does take ages to do everything so you might have got a small bike and started to get your kit together and then when you are 20 you can do the bike test through them.
You find when you start riding friends that swore down they would never ride a bike suddenly get interested and start doing it too, it's funny but the bike disease definitely spreads!!
I will let you know how my off road riding in Marrakesh goes, it's only 4 weeks away now and I should have some pretty sweet pics to put up afterwards :) Cant wait!!!
A girl on a bike is automatically hot usually! Bikes are just massively cool in general, don't worry about your parents, Once you have the bug for a bike nothing will get in your way and eventually you will have the bike of your dreams.
I would suggest doing the CBT and riding for at least a year before you do your full test, it just gives you time and experience and when you come to your full test you will pass more quickly. That's what I did and I booked a week off work, did an intensive course (was so much fun) and then passed the test on the Friday.
It is the cars that are usually the issue on the roads but if you imagine you are invisible at all times and always have an escape plan (ie. if someone pulls out you go to the centre of the road) then it's not too bad. Saying that have had screaming matches with people in cars who have nearly crashed into me :)
Someone knocked my boyfriend off his bike and then drove away so he rode after him and smashed off his wing mirror. Ha ha! That's what you get for a hit and run.
Parents are rubbish like that, start saving now and by the time you get away you can get a bike. When Andre Villa crashed into the crowd he fractured a girls jaw, she was carried off in a stretcher, another person walked off with blood pouring down their head and another person was taken away holding their arm. It was pretty bad, I was unimpressed that he just walked off and didn't stay to see of the people he hit were ok.
I crashed overtaking a car that pulled into the left and then they pulled a u-turn without indicating but by that time I had no-where to go so went straight into the side of them, wasn't too bad, it hurts, but it could have been worse. I just broke a few ribs and my finger.
Don't let it put you off tho, everyone does have a crash or a stack at some point but it's whether you get back on the bike and continue riding after that that makes a biker. Don't give up, its the danger that makes it fun! I had a go on my boyfriends KTM LC4 640 yesterday, it was mental, loved it! I want another bike!
It's a plan, We will steal Maddo next time he is here in the UK! My Mum literally screwed at me when she heard I was getting a motorbike but there was nothing she could do once I had moved out. When I crashed it she was pretty livid at me, but she has calmed down after a few years of me riding. Defo come next year to Battersea if you can. Robbie Madison crashed in Qualifying and Andre Villa crashed into the crowd on the night but they didn't show that on Dave xxx
Hello and welcome sophie, pretty friendly bunch here, and the riders are real too, hope you love the community as much as we all do,and please dont steal Maddo i hear hes has something special in the pipeline ;)
